- Title:
- Blue butterworts fill the place of the absentee blue violets on the savannahs
- Description:
- The blue butterworts fill the place of the absentee blue violets on the savannahs. In Natural Gardens, Wells calls this plant "Pinguicula pumila" (blue butterworts). This species has the short spur; in Bulletin 32, he uses "P. elatior" or "caerulea." The photograph is not conclusive for either species, as the flowers do not clearly display the long spur -- this looks like modern photographs of pumila. (Donna Wright, 2006)
