In 1891 M¿lida y Alinari designed his most important work, a Gothic Revival monument to Christopher Columbus for Havana Cathedral; this was moved to the south transept of Seville Cathedral in 1899. It is reminiscent of the tomb of Philippe Pot (ca. 1480; Paris, Louvre), comprising a sarcophagus carried by four heralds, representing the kingdoms of Castile, Le¿n, Aragon and Navarre, cast in metal and decorated in coloured enamels.
